About
Rajgir was the capital of the Magadha Empire and a place deeply associated with the life of the Buddha. Buddha spent 12 rainy seasons here and delivered important sutras at Vulture's Peak (Griddhakuta). The town is also a Jain pilgrimage site and home to the Vishwa Shanti Stupa, one of the largest peace pagodas in the world. The natural hot springs, revered for centuries, remain a popular bathing site for pilgrims.
